Twins Ace Pitcher Jose Berrios has been voted into the 2018 All-Star Game. Many saw this as a surprise considering his string of rough outings recently, including back to back losses to the Cubs and Brewers. The league office thought differently as they choose Berrios to represent the Twins organization in the mid-summer classic. After Monday’s start, Berrios is 9-7 with a 3.41 ERA. Which are very solid numbers but I’m not really sure if they are deserving of a nod for the all-star game. Personally, I thought both Eddie Rosario and Eduardo Escobar were much more deserving. Rosario especially has looked great all year and is currently batting .301 with 18 homers, as well as being a great defensive player.
The good news is that Rosario still has a chance to make the all-star team, he’s currently in the final vote and competing against four other players for the final spot. The Twins are campaigning for Rosario and have been promoting the #AcceptRosie slogan. Rosario may also end up on the team as a injury replacement even if he doesn’t win the final vote.
