Minnesota High School Baseball Player Consoles Friend After Loss

A video of a pitcher from Moundsview hugging his childhood friend after striking him out to go to the state tournament has gone viral. Totino-Grace and Moundsview played in a section final game Saturday night and that’s when the gesture took place. The video shows the pitcher giving his childhood friend a hug while all of his teammates are behind him celebrating the victory. You can’t say enough about the sportsmanship gesture by the pitcher who clearly cared more about his friend and how he was doing than he did about winning the game. It’s humbling to see people getting attention on the internet for actually doing good and important things. I hope more young athletes can learn from the Moundsview pitchers gesture.
