MSU hockey stars C.J. Suess and Daniel Brickley have both signed with NHL teams this week following the tournament loss. C.J. Suess, a defenseman, agreed to a one-year entry level contract with the Winnipeg Jets. Suess was named Offensive Player of the Year in both 2017 and 2018. Suess was selected in the fifth round, 129th overall.
Daniel Brickley, also a Maverick defenseman, was drafted by the Los Angeles Kings. Brickley had options to consider as he was also recruited by the Detroit Red Wings and San Jose Sharks. Brickley signed a two-year entry level contract but will most likely not see playing time this year as the Kings push for the playoffs.
