MSU hangs on to top spot in AFCA Poll

The Minnesota State football team held the No. 1 ranking in the AFCA Poll for the second straight week.

MSU, which was ranked first in last week’s poll, held the top spot after defeating Wayne State 48-27 last weekend at Blakeslee Stadium.

The Mavericks are one of three NSIC schools ranked in the top-25 poll. Sioux Falls held the 13th spot after defeating Upper Iowa 19-7 on the road, while Winona State moved up one spot to 17th after besting Southwest Minnesota State 45-7 in Marshall.

Minnesota State concludes its regular season schedule this Saturday on the road as it takes on Sioux Falls. Kickoff is schedule for 12:00 p.m.
