Perrizo named NSIC Defensive Player of the Week

Minnesota State senior Evan Perrizo has been named the NSIC Defensive Player of the Week for his efforts in MSU’s win against Winona State.
A native of Eden Prairie, Minn., Perrizo recorded five tackles, including 2.5 for a loss, and two sacks. He also recovered a fumble and returned its 12 yards for a touchdown for his first career score as a Maverick. He leads Minnesota State with 12.5 tackles for a loss and 7.5 sacks this season.

This is the first time Perrizo has received the NSIC Defensive Player of the Week award. He is the first Maverick to garner the award since Joshua Gordon did so back on Oct. 12, 2015.

No. 1 Minnesota State continues its season this Saturday as it hosts Wayne State at Blakeslee Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 12:00 p.m.
