MSU improved two spots in the poll after it defeated Concordia-St. Paul 47-10 on the road last weekend. This is the highest Minnesota State has been ranked in the D2Football.com poll since week one of the 2016 season when it was ranked fourth.

The Mavericks are one of three NSIC schools ranked in the top-25. Sioux Falls moved up to the fourth spot after besting Southwest Minnesota State 24-10. Winona State climbed one spot to 17th after defeating Upper Iowa 37-7.

Minnesota State continues its season on Saturday as it hosts Augustana in its annual Homecoming game at Blakeslee Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 1:30 p.m.
