MSU Football moves up to fifth spot in latest AFCA poll

The Minnesota State football team climbed up to the fifth spot in the most recent edition of the AFCA poll.

The Mavericks improved one spot in the poll after defeating Concordia-St. Paul 47-10 last weekend on the road. This is the highest ranking MSU has received in the AFCA poll since it was ranked #1 in week eight of the 2015 season.

MSU is one of three NSIC schools in the AFCA poll. Sioux Falls moved up to the sixth spot after besting Southwest Minnesota State 24-10. Winona State climbed three spots to 22nd as it defeated Upper Iowa 37-7.

Minnesota State continues its season on Saturday as it hosts Augustana in its annual Homecoming game at Blakeslee Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 1:30 p.m.
