Mavericks up to 9th spot in latest D2football.com poll

The Minnesota State football team moved up to ninth in the latest edition of the D2Football.com poll.
MSU improved one spot in the poll after posting a 56-19 win against Minnesota Crookston last weekend at Blakeslee Stadium. This is the highest ranking MSU has received in the D2Football.com poll since week one of the 2016 season when it was ranked fourth.
The Mavericks are one of three NSIC schools ranked in the top-25. Sioux Falls improved to the eighth spot, while Minnesota Duluth moved up to the 15th spot. USF defeated Northern State 37-7 at home last weekend, while UMD bested Upper Iowa 33-21 on the road.
Minnesota State returns to action on the road this Saturday as it takes on Minnesota Duluth. Kickoff is scheduled for 6:00 p.m.
