Mavericks Climb to 12th Spot in AFCA Poll

The Minnesota State football team has been ranked 12th in the most recent edition of the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) Poll.
MSU improved eight spots from the preseason poll after defeating the University of Mary 35-7 last week on the road. This is the highest ranking MSU has received in the AFCA poll since week one of the 2016 season when it was ranked sixth.
The Mavericks are one of three NSIC schools ranked in the top-25. Sioux Falls improved to the ninth spot in the poll, while Minnesota Duluth fell to 21st. USF defeated UMD 26-7 last week in Duluth.
Minnesota State opens the home portion of its 2017 schedule on Saturday as it hosts the Minnesota Crookston Golden Eagles at 1:00 p.m.
