Twins Sweep Indians and Climb Back Into First Place

Twins won all three games this weekend in Cleveland. Friday they won 5-0, 4-2 on Saturday, and 4-0 win on Sunday. The sweep means Twins took back the lead from the Indians and are now a half-game ahead in the AL Central division.

On Sunday, Santana (10-4) allowed nine hits, but Cleveland’s lineup struggled. The Indians were shut out twice, went 1 for 23 with runners in scoring position and stranded 30 base runners in the weekend series. The Twins hadn’t swept a three-game series in Cleveland since 1991.

Twins continue on their road trip tonight playing the Boston Red Sox at 6:10 (CT).
