Maverick Women’s softball headed to the Series

#6 Minnesota State (59-7)  made a comeback against #2 Harding (58-9) in game three of the NCAA Central Super Regionals on Sunday afternoon in Arkansas

The 7-6 victory pushes the team to their third appearance at the NCAA Championships in Salem, Va. for the first time since 2011. Second seed Minnesota State plays seventh-seeded Southern Indiana on Thursday at 3 P.M.

Trailing till the sixth inning, freshman Carly Esselman got an RBI, closing the gap to just one. In the seventh inning, senior Ashley Thell blasted the game-winning run, sending teammate junior Alyssa Rickets home, making it 7-6.

Coley Ries, senior pitcher, passed Carri Tschida (1986-89) in strikeouts in a complete game throwing eight and is now in first for all-time wins in a season.
