Carrie Underwood is taking on a large role in helping young girls have a chance to participate in sports.
Underwood began a women’s clothing line earlier this year called CALIA, which produces fitness and lifestyle clothing in partnership with DICK’s for young girls and women. Underwood plans on funding an estimated 100 teams across America this month alone with contributions from her clothing line.
“Sports were a big part of my life growing up, so its important to me that girls across the country get those same opportunities,” said Underwood.
Her mission is to help fund for girls organized sports but also empower as many girls as possible across the country to learn, grow and dream.
The Sports matter initiatives have integrated a multi-year $50 million commitment to raise awareness and support youth sports programs facing budget shortfalls.
