His name says it all. Karl-Anthony Towns aka K.A.T. from the Minnesota Timberwolves is expanding his business partnership by doing ads for Kit Kat candy bars.
The young rising NBA star joined Hershey’s, adding them to the list of products that he has recently endorsed. Building both a brand and a name for himself at such a young age, it is bound to catch a lot of attention.
In the three Kit Kat commercials, KAT had a production crew in his Minneapolis suburb home, completing them all within a matter of five hours. The crew wheeled in boxes filled with the candy bar, practically making Towns drool in excitement.
In many of the shots, he bites off a small piece each time, but after each take instead of spitting out the candy bar, he would swallow each bite.
“I’m not hungry at all,” he said after the day of filming. “I ate like 30 Kit Kat bars.”
The chocolate lover and basketball star had his representative reach out to Hershey’s to offer them the endorsement and advertisement deal. Hershey’s response was extremely positive and both sides were excited for the opportunity.
KAT also has endorsements with Jack Links, Nike, Gatorade, Panini, Beats by Dre, ProCamp/Hyvee, Verizon, 2K Sports, and Call of Duty.
You can see Towns in a few Jack Links commercials as well, next to Sasquatch, they are aired mainly before the NBA playoffs.
When asked if he believes in Sasquatch, he answered, “I am Big Foot.” No kidding… his shoe size is 20.
The Kit Kat commercials are expected to air sometime soon.
