The Minnesota Timberwolves played their last home game of the season against the Oklahoma City Thunder. In front of a sell out crowd at Target Center last night. It wasn’t the basketball game that brought in such a huge crowed. The game itself was rather disappointing because one of the best players in the whole NBA had the night off. Russell Westbrook broke the NBA record for triple doubles in a season in his previous game. Even with Westbrook not in the lineup the Wolves still fell short and lost 100 to 98.
The real reason that Target Center was sold out last night was because of the big reveal of the teams new logo. The new logo was presented to the public for the first time during halftime of last nights game and will become the teams new look starting in the beginning of the 2017-2018 season.
The new look comes with optimism and hopefully for Minnesota Timberwolves fans it also comes with more wins and more playoff entrances. Its been a very long time since the team produced a season that fans can be proud of. Its been over 10 years since the exciting Kevin Garnett era. Then it was the short lived Kevin Love era. With this new logo official starts the Karl Anthony Towns and Andrew Wiggins era. The future is very bright in Minnesota with those two stars being so talented at such a young age. The team is hoping to finally turn the corner next season.
The Minnesota Timberwolves took the logo to twitter with lots of mixed reactions from fans. Some with happy responses some with displeasure. I personally do not care for the new logo, but if this new logo is the start of a success program I can learn to like the new logo. What are your thoughts on the new look Wolves logo?
