The Wild were able to pull off a 5-4 comeback victory against the LA Kings last night. They did this after trailing during 4 separate occasions.
What was more impressive, was the goal that Mikael Granlund scored 12 seconds into overtime to win the game.
After Koivu won the opening faceoff, Jared Spurgeon skated the puck up along the right side boards and gave a drop pass to Granlund at the far blue line. The rest was all Granlund. He skated the puck up the middle of the ice and weaved through all 3 Kings players, and then goalie Jonathan Quick, to score what may be the goal of they year.
The players on the ice for the Kings included Drew Doughty (2016 Norris trophy winner), Anze Kopitar (2016 Selke trophy winner), Jonathan Quick (two-time Vezina trophy nominee) and Jeff Carter (2017 NHL All-Star). It was truly impressive that Granlund was able to score a goal like this against them.
