Adrian Peterson, the running back for the Vikings, is planning on sticking with the team for next season, but considered the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Houston Texans, New York Giants.
Peterson said that he sees himself sticking with the Vikings, but at the end of the day it is still a business and it is important to look at all different options.
This was Peterson’s 10th season with Minnesota. If he were to enter free agency, he would want to choose a team that would have the potential of making it to the Super Bowl.
If he decides that Minnesota is his home, a new deal would need to be finished before the upcoming league year, which begins March 9.
Although Peterson spent much of the season on the sidelines with a knee injury, he believes he still has at least five more years before he throws in the towel.
“I have a mindset to be my best,” Peterson said. “Going into the next season, I’ll be ready to roll.” He is optimistic about the Vikings’ future capabilities, but agrees there needs to be improvements to make it to the Super Bowl.
