Minnesota State junior forward Claire Ziegler was named the NSIC South Division Player of the Week after her performance in two non-conference games last week.
Ziegler posted back-to-back double-double performances last week. She collected a team-best 11 rebounds and added 14 points in the season opening 65-54 win over Missouri Western State. The Mankato, Minn., native then pulled down a team-high 12 rebounds and 15 points to aid in the Mavericks 89-64 victory versus’ Missouri Southern State.
Additionally, Ziegler is notching a team-leading 11.5 rebounds per game to slot her third in the NSIC. Ziegler is also netting a team-best 14.5 points per contest while shooting 52.4 percent from the field (11-21).
Minnesota State returns to the floor when it travels to Black Hills State on Friday. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:00 p.m.
