Vikings Women’s Soccer clinches overtime victory over Knights

The Bethany women’s soccer team (6-6-2, 2-1-1) battled Martin Luther College (3-10, 2-3) on Tuesday afternoon at MLC. The non-conference rivalry contest resulted in a 1-0 overtime victory for the Vikings.

The Vikings and Knights played the first 90 minutes of competition unable to score a goal off the opposing goalkeeper. Going into the overtime session, Bethany attempted 22 shots (8 on goal) compared to the Knights 16 (7 on goal).

Fifty-one seconds into the first overtime period, freshman Bridget Brown (North Mankato, Minn.) buried her third goal on the season to lead the Vikings to a non-conference victory over Martin Luther.

The Vikings and Knights will meet again on Thursday night at 5 p.m. at the BLC Soccer Field. This game will be an Upper Midwest Athletic Conference game.
