MSU Women’s Soccer earns academic accolade from NSCAA

Minnesota State women’s soccer has earned the 2015-16 NSCAA College Team Academic Award, as announced by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America on Thursday.

The Mavericks, who earned a team grade point average of 3.44 in 2015-16, were one of 577 women’s teams to receive the honor. To earn the NSCAA College Team Academic Award, a team must have a minimum grade point average of 3.00.

Minnesota State also excelled on the field in 2015 — compiling a 18-2-2, 14-0-1 NSIC record. The Mavericks won their ninth regular-season NSIC title and made their 10th NCAA Tournament appearance. Head Coach Brian Bahl was named the NSIC Coach of the Year for 2015.
