Viking Volleyball cruises to 3-1 win over Knights

The Bethany volleyball team returned to the floor after competing in the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference preview this past weekend. Bethany traveled to Martin Luther on Tuesday night to take on the Knights in a non-conference match.

After falling in the first set, Bethany comes from behind to win the next three sets to earn the match win. Scores from New Ulm were 12-25, 25-23, 26-24, 25-23.

Megan Rutt (Le Center, Minn.) and Rachel Sorensen (Windom, Minn.) led the Vikings offensive attacked with 15 kills each. Jasmine Carlson (Windom, Minn.) had another great night for the Vikings, finishing with 40 set assists.

Kristen Mielke (New Germany, Minn.) and Haley Domonoske (Waterville, Minn.) played an important role on the block attack, combining for 10 total blocks while Anna Nelson (Cannon Falls, Minn.) contributed with 23 digs in the victory over Martin Luther.

The Vikings will welcome the Yellowjackets to Bethany on Friday night for another non-conference contest. The JV match will begin at 5 p.m. with the varsity game to follow at 7 p.m.
