Pieruccini named NSIC Offensive Player of the Week

Minnesota State senior Nick Pieruccini has been named the NSIC Offensive Player of the Week for his efforts in MSU’s 45-12 win against St. Cloud State last weekend.

Pieruccini is the first Maverick to receive an NSIC weekly honor this season. This is the second time Pieruccini has been named the NSIC Offensive Player of the Week, with the first time coming during the 2014 season against Wayne State.

A native of Chicago, Ill., Pieruccini led the Maverick offense with 282 passing yards and 109 rushing yards. He also threw a career-high four touchdown passes and ran in one touchdown. His 109 rushing yards also marks the third time in his career he has rushed for more than 100 yards in a game.

The Mavericks continue their season at home on Saturday as they host MSU Moorhead at Blakeslee Stadium. The opening kickoff is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. on The Fan Mankato AM 1230 FM 103.1
