After a scoreless first half, the Minnesota State women’s soccer team rallied for two goals in the second half to best Gustavus Adolphus 2-0 in exhibition play Saturday evening.
The exhibition was played in two 45-minute halves.
After a scoreless first half the Mavericks wasted little time in the second half as sophomore Morgan Cottew scored at the 50:00 mark to give MSU a 1-0 lead. Senior Kiana Nickel earned an assist on the play as well.
Minnesota State then added to its lead at the 69:30 mark as freshman Alesha Duccini was able to get the goal through traffic to put MSU up 2-0.
