MSU Men’s Cross Country Picked to Finish Sixth in NSIC Preseason Poll

The Minnesota State men’s cross country team has been picked to finish sixth in the NSIC Preseason Coaches’ Poll.

The Mavericks received the sixth spot in the poll after receiving 79 points. Augustana topped the poll with 121 points and 11 first-place votes. MSU Moorhead came in second with 110 points and one first-place vote, while Sioux Falls (3rd/92 points), Minnesota Duluth (4th/90 points) and the University of Mary (5th/81 points) rounded out the top five.

Junior Austin Pasch was named MSU’s Athlete to Watch. Last season, Pasch finished in 30th place at the NSIC Championships with a time of 27:23.32.

Minnesota State opens its 2016 season on Friday, Sept. 2, as it takes part in the Augie Twilight in Sioux Falls, S.D. The event is scheduled to begin at 8:00 p.m.
