MSU Football ends Fall camp with scrimmage on Sunday

The Minnesota State football team closes out its 2016 fall practice schedule tonight with a scrimmage at Blakeslee Stadium.

MSU finished the 2015 season with a 10-2 record and is ranked seventh this year in the American Football Coaches Association Preseason Poll.

Head Coach, Todd Hoffner says he thinks fall camp has gone really good.

The scrimmage tonight is schedule to run from 6:15 until 7:30.

The Mavericks have a quarterback battle going on in camp between Ricky Lloyd, Nick Pieruccini and Mankato native Ryan Schlichte.

Senior Quarterback, Ricky Lloyd said camp has gone great being back with his teammates.

Lloyd threw for 1,019 yards last year with nine touchdown passes. He also rushed for 334 yards and two touchdowns.

Senior Safety, Mat Andriano says it’s always exciting to start a season when there is a chance to compete for a championship.

Andriano played in all 12 games for the Mavericks last year and was named to the NSIC All-Academic Team.
