Postseason performances from women’s swimming and diving, wrestling and men’s and women’s track and field have moved Minnesota State to eighth place in the latest edition of the Learfield Directors’ Cup standings with 318.25 points.
The Mavericks ranked 51st in the standings at the conclusion of the fall season.
Minnesota State earned a total of 229.25 points from four sports including women’s swimming and diving (24th/50 points), women’s track and field (18th/56 points), men’s track and field (19th/55 points) and wrestling (9th/68.25).
Grand Valley State currently sits atop the standings with a total of 682 points. Alaska Anchorage (398.25 points), Colorado School of Mines (391 points), Adams State (377.75 points and Queens (352.50 points) rounded out the top-five.
Minnesota State is the highest rated NSIC school in the standings. Augustana currently sits in 14th place with 263.50 points. MSU Moorhead sits in 48th place with 176 points as well.
The final winter standings, which includes basketball, will be released on March 31.
